Computer Training - Introduction......
It is a unfortunate fact that even in 2007 many people avoid computers because they believe that they can’t
possibly understand them - citing many and varied reasons why its ‘not for them’. The reality is of course
that this can be rectified quite easily without subjecting the individual to a baffling array of jargon.
A sound understanding of the ‘basics’ is essential to get the best from your computer and to make the use of
that computer a rewarding experience. Unfortunately, this is also the part that is most often skipped-over,
or omitted completely, inevitably causing the user significant frustration at home or work at a later date.
A computer engineer does of course need the technical detail - it’s what they do for a living. Most people
however, own and use a computer for entirely different reasons and do not need their understanding of
the basics clouded with unintelligible ‘techie stuff’. An appreciation of what some of the terminology
means does of course help - particularly when confronted with an enthusiastic salesperson!

effectively for your needs and purposes. Equally, if you, your colleagues or staff need help
